I think that the black cloaks are to hide them from people outside of the camp as they travel to/from tribal council. If during the filming they saw people voted out it could ruin the surprise or the internet wagering. Remember Aaron Buerge from the Bachelor season 2?
The best part of those videos was Corinne, Marcus and Charlie dancing like crazy while Randy just sat at the table drinking.

Love the pole comment. Randy feels left out, doesn't he? I also loved his comment during the haircut - "She can do whatever she wants b/c she smells great."
I suppose you're right about the black cloaks, but really? Are there people in Gabon spying on the show? Are they locals? Are they American spies sent from TMZ?
